Midwest tornados

I just wanted to drop everyone a message here to be safe out there and keep an eye out on the radar and skies. We've ad a very active tornado season already and it is very weird these things have been dropping and following near same paths as ones previously.

Re: Midwest tornados

Seeing the video footage of the tornado damage is gut-wrenching, my heart goes out to people affected. With more storms coming, godspeed to those involved.

Re: Midwest tornados

The same area, Lincoln, Nebraska toward Ottumwa, Iowa, is under another tornado watch again today until 10pm. Sounds like big hail and high winds again too. https://www.kcrg.com/weather/alerts/

Re: Midwest tornados

We already swapped the vehicles so the nicer ones are in the garage and battened down everything else. Wife said could be 2 inch hail... I have a feeling this is going to be a special year. Hopefully noone gets hurt. We are a little north of the storms last time but scared me enough to take seriously.

Re: Midwest tornados

Yes, severe weather season is in full swing now. You folks in the northern states are now receiving harsh spring weather like we in the south have been receiving every year for as long as I can remember. It appears, as a result of climate change, the tornado producing storms are now also developing in the more northern states that rarely had them not too many years ago.
We dreaded spring each year for severe weather outbreaks. I believe it was Jan 1999 we in Arkansas had 56 confirmed tornados in one 24 hr period. I remember that day very well. That total about doubled the previous state record from 1930s.

https://www.fox16.com/weather/weathe...2-years-later/

Severe weather can and does happen all around the world. It is nothing to be taken lightly. Keep an eye peeled when the forecasters say severe weather is possible.

Re: Midwest tornados

Give thanks to the storm chasers out following these things.
One + daughter almost got hit by falling debris: https://kfor.com/news/local/watch-dr...ietta-tornado/

Another lost a windshield to a hail stone estimated to be around softball sized.

Re: Midwest tornados

Watching video and they were talking to a home owner whose house was pretty much demolished. They said he has to still stay at the house and sleep in his truck because the looters have descended on the neighborhood and he needs to be there to scare them off.
