Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Greased the bearings on my front hubs and found where my steering noise was coming from at 65 to 70 mph. Very loose tie rod end to crossover bolt nut. Retightned to 50 ftlbs. Seems tight. Test drive today. Rebuild of front end to come soon.

Bolted the bed back to the frame. Installed the tail lights and tailgate. She's ready to drive but I will probably wait until spring. We'll see. Here are some pics.

Swapped out rad supports in my 69 (68 front clip) Had to be 80 plus degrees today. Great Sunny Florida day today to work on the C-10. Here's some pics. The electric fan and tranny cooler are just sitting there but will be set in place within the next week.

Now THERE's a Shop!!!!!!

If I had your shop, I'd have had at least six hours of wrenching bliss today. As it was, I couldn't even get the gumption up to slog down to the
shop to show a couple of family members the project they've never seen before.

Painted the driver's side inner fender well. Cleaned and primed the trans crossmember. Removed the outside mirrors and scrapped the weatherstripping from the door openings.

Just mocked up the Boss 338 rims. 20x10 rear, 20x8.5 front. Checking clearances and determining tire sizes.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I drove My 84 k-5 blazer into a pond, got it stuck, because the stock auto hubs didnt work, then I walked a 1/2 mile to get a tractor, pulled it out, went to orielleys, got some Mile Marker locking hubs, installed them, and took it through the pond again... and it made it! I love mud trucks!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Today I Blocked/wet-sanded inside of bed and started putting it back together. Tomorrow I will test fit tailgate and finishing bolting it down, install tubs, block out side of quarter panels etc. Will have it painted by the end of the week.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

You guys have some phat ass projects going on and the quality of the work you guys do is insane. I haven't seen a poorly done truck yet on this site. Thanks

For today I am still clearing 8 years of junk from the garage in order to get the gmc inside.
slowly sifting and purging through boxes sucks!

Waiting to get the cab top primed and painted new windshield asap...

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Shopped for drop shocks from several suppliers. Looks like Summit is the cheapest but takes 5 days to ship to you. I think I will pay the 1$10 difference and buy from Advanced Auto.

The long memorial weekend was productive...I swapped out my alternator to a 1-wire, byrassed ext. regulator. I also prepped and painted my new to me edelbrock intake, installed it and a new 1411 carb.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I relocated my Prop Valve to the frame, then I flared and bent my own brake lines.
Also installed my fender well after remolding it to get rid of some factory bends that do not need to be there to give it a clean smooth look.
