This is an old thread, but just thought I would correct the record. Chevy and GM trucks started offering the Oldsmobile 5.7 diesel in 1978 for half ton trucks only. First one of the "big three" to bring to market a light duty diesel truck. Last year for the olds diesel in these trucks was 1981.
