Best way to upgrade suspension

Hi, new to the website. I 've got a 71 c-10 that i'm doing a frame of resto. So my question is, whats the best and cheapest way to rebuild the front suspension and upgrade it at the same time? I'm not looking to slam it, i think i'll lower it just a few inches. any thoughts would be a great help, Thanks.

Re: Best way to upgrade suspension

well let me be the first to say Welcome to the madness!!!! you have found the best truck board I have found with tons of info...

now as for your truck the best way is drops spindles...you keep the disc brake set up and it keeps your steering geometery stock...cheapest would be to cut one to one and a half loops off the front springs....the rear depending on what you do you can replace the stock springs with a set of TJ jeep springs..this will give you a nice stance

as far a ball joints and bushing try your local auto parts store

again welcome
Jeff

PS we are pic whores so lets se it!!

Re: Best way to upgrade suspension

Welcome to the board, also.
Look around in the suspension section.
I agree with Hottrucks, do a complete rebuild of the front end components, then add drop spindles, good quality shocks and a beefy sway bar up front.
In the rear, use a set of drop springs and drop shocks.
Look at www.earlyclassic.com for great suspension products.
These guys know our trucks.
