Best sealer for engine gaskets?

Need to change out a timing cover and I was wondering what is the best sealer for this, as well as the oil pan if necessary. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

If they don't have that, they may have the Permatex Super 300, which seems to me to be the same thing. Looks the same, smells the same, works the same, etc. Good thing we didn't step in it, huh.

Both clean up easily with alcohol, and are not affected by gas, oil, or coolant.

We use this stuff on 35 million dollar gas turbines, so it has to be good.

I used to use that aviation sealer on everything, Now though I use a spray on copper sealer. Sprays like paint, sets up like contact cement, and it's loaded with copper. It glues your peices in place and makes assembly easy, and cleans off easy if you take it apart again.

Go to you local honda dealer and pick up a tube of "Hondabond." Not kidding. This stuff is thick but lays out easily. It's the best there is. We use it on our race engines and they never leak.

Where can I get more gaskacinch? I loved my gaskacinch, but I can't find it anymore. Does it still come in the same can? I've been hangin on to my old dried up empty can of gaskacinch cause I love the vintage pin up girl label. I need a new can.

I haven't replaced that many gaskets in my short time. But I've had good results using Permatex High Tack on intake manifolds around the intake ports and Permatex Ultra Black Silicone around the water pasages.

Ya, lucky, at my local napa (old timers even) they never heard of the stuff. I did a google search today and found a place to order it from. I ordered a couple cans. The old can I have is left over from when I lived in California, probably picked it up at Ralphs.

I believe Edelbrock carries Gasgacinch.
I personally use Yamabond, Very nice to work with. Not a silicone product and goes a long way.
