Stereo Problem in my 54

I just installed an Alpine 9886 stereo and a KTP 445 amp. The stereo plays fine when the truck is parked but the radio cuts out for a second several times when I'm driving,. The radio itself stays on just the music or voice cuts out. I am using two Alpine 5" speakers in the doors. I have 2 6x9 speakers for the back but have not hooked them up yet as I am getting the upholstery done soon. Any suggestions on where to start?. I wiggled all the wires while parked in the garage but it plays fine. Take it out and a block later it cuts out. I've hooked up several stereos in the past with no problems, so I'm a little puzzled this time. I have the antenna bolted to a bracket on the frame between the cab and the bed and a small foam ball on the antenna half way down the antenna so it won't hit the body. I am going to try a Cd next to elimenate the antenna. Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Stereo Problem in my 54

After exhausting all efforts I took the radio back to Alpine. They will check it for me and fix whatever is wrong. One thing I did find out is if you use their KTP-445 amp, it must be used with 4 speakers. That is why it was clipping when I turned up the volume. I cannot repeat all the technical stuff cause I don't remember it all but this amp knows how many speakers are hooked up to it and wants 4 speakers to drive and NOT 2. Thought I would pass this along.

Re: Stereo Problem in my 54

The nice people at Alpine called me to say there is nothing wrong with my 9886 model radio. So I went to their facility in Torrance, CA. and picked it up. The technician gave me another radio harness and told me to try it out. I went home and hooked up the radio with the new harness which is the same as the harness I already had and it works great. Remember this was a brand new radio that had been sitting in my closet for 2 years. Go figure.
