Oil Pressure Specifications

Does anyone know the oil pressure specifications for the 5.3?

I have an 01 Suburban that runs at just a smidge below 50 psi at idle with the engine fully warmed up. About a year ago I bought a 06 Sierra and it runs just below 40 at idle when fully warmed up. Both vehicles have the same oil in them - Valvoline 5W 30. 38 or so psi seems a little low to me.

Could the oil pressures actually be the same and the guages are just reading different? Is 38 psi at idle too low?

Thanks.

Re: Oil Pressure Specifications

i am sure there are some differences in the set up my 04 runs about 40-45 at idle and jumps up to 65 or so under WOT. I think your 06 is fine, would not worry about it too much.
