This truck only came with upper trim and no woodgrain and it is 100% Highlander.

So it did after I rechecked the SPID. Sorry about that, question withdrawn. Thanks for posting another example of the Janesville only centered Deluxe emblem too.

Jerry's in Weatherford is still in business located West of Ft-Worth Texas. This truck is currently being restored to its original glory in Irving TX near where the Dallas Cowboys used to play.

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?

No current pics of my blue highlander suburban...she's REALLY ugly right now as the person I sold her to put her into the back of a big truck. I've got both original seats...but need to get them recovered when I get around to putting this big ole girl back on the road. She is a dual air 402 truck...so she likes her gasoline!

I've got a new toy to pick up the end of October...I'll share that news when I get her home. From there, I've got a couple of AD trucks in front of the burb...

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?

Here's a hidden highlander! It's for sale, link below. I called and got the SPID because I was pretty darn interested, but just not gonna be able to pull it off in my current running-around state. Someone should buy, resto, and enjoy this old beauty. Btw, this was one of SSTim's great finds - thanks Tim. We both like to suspect every Custom Deluxe is a hidden highlander, and, occasionally, it really pays off.

I've attached a few additional pics that the seller sent me in addition to the cl ad itself. Even with the holes in the roof from the non-oem clearance lights that used to be there, I think this is a VERY fair price for a not-that-common, solid med red paint, gray plaid, Highlander that is also a Custom Camper. For what it's worth, the seller was very friendly and responsive (I do not know him). I think it'd be a beautiful combo restored. Anyway - here you go!

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?

here's a few more pics - LAST one is NOT THIS TRUCK - it is what the interior would look like if restored to original condition - pretty sweet in my book. One could nit pick (incorrect mirror heads, missing carpet, missing antenna, non-oem radio, roof holes, etc, BUT he's only asking $3500... I WISH I'd bought this one instead of the olive 71 Cheyenne Super I purchased a few years back). It appears to be pretty straight with little rust. Enjoy!

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?

Nice truck thanks for sharing. Would like to know how RPO VF5 Calif Vehicle Reg (listed above) differs from RPO VF6 California Processi (listed on my K5 in addition to RPO VF5). Maybe 1/2 vs 3/4 ton emissions equip?

Yes 1/2 tons as I understand it were production tested where the larger 20-30 trucks were simply factory certified to meet their lesser CA mandated emission requirements.

Ha, I'd love to get it Tim!
EDIT: Speaking of glamour shots - I know Sicklajoie's gorgeous 69 is hugger, but THAT's what I keep seeing in my daydreams... but with plaid!

tommy - check out post 47, we're practically twins... I'll trade you my Cali emissions for your big block though! What? No? Really nice truck. Love the avocado plaid.

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?

Another from the Hidden Highlander files. This wasn't actually advertised with a plaid interior but a SPID request and more pictures confirmed what I had suspected from the little picture posted.

Nice little truck loaded up with options just not power brakes!
Wood beds we see but cargo lamps and the D89 stripe are not very common on a Highlanders. This is a plaid trim truck and notably a Janesville truck too with the center justified "Deluxe" emblem.

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?

Why the base "sport" mirrors rather than camper mirrors?
