Not stock that I know of but I have seen this before. It was an anti-theft device from the mid-late 70's.

I have always seen them on the cheap mid 70's vettes. I've been told they were just a security feature, whatever that means.

My dad had one on his turbocharged '72 pinto. It is an alarm/anti-theft system. Do you have the key? Does it work?

bouncytruck, no key. Wires were still hooked up though, would like to get a workimg one to put on it after it gets restored. I think it's kinda neat.

Welcome from SW Washington State....

Those were cheap switches to activate the alarm.

If there is a number on the face of the lock, a locksmith can make a key by that code.

key switch

If that'a a key switch for an alarm, you can buy them almost anywhere. Garage doors use to have them. Radio Shack use to sell them ????? Tim says there was one on AWACS aircraft (used by maintenance people for system checks -- not starting plane!)

Welcome to the board from Texas.
