Anybody know if the "buddy" bucket seats will fit in our blazers?

Saw a pic of some and thought it might be the solution for where my 5 year old son could ride. Just thought if you switched brackets on buckets then mount buddy seat where console is supposed to be it might work.Family at movies so cruising internet and thinking of possibilities.

I'm not sure I know what a 'buddy seat' is or exactly what kind of seat your refering to.

I'm thinking a stock pickup seat would be the easiest option. One that folded forward would be a big plus. The only problem would be if the nut plates aren't in the floor board. I've never seen them in Blazers ??

However, we must remember what the good folks a Volvo say: The safest place for a child is in the back seat strapped in an approved child safety seat. Just my $.02

Never heard them refered to as 'buddy seats'. Guess you learn something every day.

The back of the center section of the 67-68 seats stops against a bracket that is screwed to the cab of a pickup. Most people dont have the bracket so the seat back usually stops against the tank. There's a real good picture of this in the assembly manual.

My point is without something behind the center section of the seat, the back will continue to hinge back to the limit of the hinge. You would have to rig something to stop it's rearward travel and that would probably defeat your purpose.

I'm still thinking a folding pickup seat is the way to go. Just my $.02

the stock seat in my dad's '96 F-150 is kinda like the 67-68 seats. It has 3 different seats, but the middle folds down into an armrest. it has some kind of internal mechanicsm to stop it, not the rear wall of the cab like the older seats. might be worth a shot. only thing it doesnt have is the toolbox under the middle.

My 95 Silverado has 60/40 buckets in an extended cab. The middle area folds down to create an armrest. Passenger bucket slides forward for access to rear. The reason I asked about 67-68 was I wanted to stay with something from that era. May not be feasable(big word huh?spelling?) Anyway thanks for info on those buckets.

Naw can't forget back seat. One of the "selling points" on buying it was I could haul all 3 younguns with me. Whether I do or not is now moot,but at the risk of bodily injury I must keep back seat.
