Tubular rocker boxes? Anybody done this?

The Jimmy I bought had the rocker boxes cut out. The owner said "they always rust out so I just cut them out" hah!

I think some people will refer to these as the torsion boxes as well.

Anyway, I have a roll bar in the cab that I'm hoping is helping hold things together, but was wondering if anybody has built a tubular rocker box or under-tub bracing system? I would like to get rid of the roll bar long term, mostly because I don't like the aesthetics of it, but I want the tub to be less of a floppy noodle and was looking for ideas.

If there is already a thread on this please point me in the right direction!

Thanks guys

There are threads out there on this. However, I suggest replacing the torsion boxes. Everything can be bought new now, so it is an easy process. As far as rust, just treat the inside and out of the torsion boxes before you install them, and flush them out periodically once installed.
