Re: pics of lowered trucks with stock steel wheels and caps.

I like this thread. Mine. Not lowered. It was lowered in the front, but with heated springs. I had a set of stock springs to put on so the truck wouldn't lean. One day it will be low again. The fronts are 5 lug 15x7 and rears are 6 lug 15x8. Wish I had 2 5 lug 15x6 off a van. I have 2 5 lug 15x8 in my garage. I need another 71,72 rear axle so I can run all 5 luggers. I broke something in the old axle. Now the axle just sits in the backyard.

You know you can just swap the actual axles and the brakes drums and boom=5 lug! Just make sure you measure both when they are out. That's what I did.

Even if the 6 lug axle is shorter than the 5 lug? Will that work? Is that how yours was? My 6 lug is from a 69.

If you're talking to me then yes. One day. That bed has a large dent that's hard to see in this pic. I'm looking for another bed preferable one with the holes in it.

Here is a 71 with 8 inch steel wheels that I had on for quite a few years and then I upgraded to the 18s.

Blackline61 "what rim/tire size are you running southcity? looks good!"

I have 18x8 on the front with 255/55/18 Kumho
I have 18x9.5 on the rear of the 275/55/18 Kumho
They are Coys natural finish wheels

Re: pics of lowered trucks with stock steel wheels and caps.

I'm thinking about running 255/70R15's on 15"x8" rallyes all the way around, but not sure if they'll fit with a 3 inch drop on the front

Re: pics of lowered trucks with stock steel wheels and caps.

I have toyed with the idea of lowering my truck. Haven't pulled the trigger yet. I really only want to even out the truck. The coil springs are all original with rear heavy duty springs. How many inches would I need in the rear to even it out? 2"or 3" ?

EDIT: Just bought Rear 2" drop coils for my truck off craigslist for CHEAP with lowering shocks. Hopefully it evens it out. DOES it matter what end of the coils goes top to bottom? I see that they have numbers on one end of each coil spring. Also will my stock shocks be okay with the 2" drop?

Re: pics of lowered trucks with stock steel wheels and caps.

The chevy Tahoe's we work on here have 20", black, 8 oval steel wheels that run a chrome center hub cap. Unfortunately they are 6 lug and my 71 C10 has 5 lug. I really wanna see what this would look like on my truck.
