Using 80's style side mirrors

Does anyone have a pic of the Mid-80's style side mirror mounted on our blazers? I don't like the dinky factory mirrors from our era or the current aftermarket junk for sale either.

I should have given a better description of the mirrors. I am talking about the large Chevy 80's style truck mirrors.

I have a set I was planning to put on. I'm having a hard time going there though, it just doesn't seem right.

I thought about going a different direction. Wanted to use newer mirrors yet (90's?) that fit into the area where our wing windows are and include the window channel. Always like the looks of of the 67-72 pickups with the one piece glass in the door, but we need some support for the part that mates up with the windshield frame. Thought that might do the trick.....That idea has long since passed though because I don't run with doors anymore. Just tube doors now.

The three arm with the 6x9 head look and function well, I think the were available back then also. Sorry no pics.

I like the looks of those 80s mirrors too. I've seen them on some 69-72 blazers. I've got a machine shop currently working on a modification. The arm (tube) from the mounting base to the mirror head needs to be bent from its current 45 degree angle to about 38 degrees.

I think this is what you're talking about. I like the option, as it give a bit better visibility and I don't think it takes away from the vehicle's classic look.

The base plate on the door would have to be raised at least an inch at the top. I don't think it'd look good, so I'm trying to bend the arm. I'll let you know how it comes out. I found a couple of pictures on the net, but I can't tel how they got it to work.... I'm open to other suggestions!

Yeah I have seen some pics, but they never are at the right angle to see what was done to make them fit. I have played around with my set and have not had much luck with a good fit to the door.
