If I still want the 18's will they ship when the 20's ship? I'll cross the fitment bridge when I come to it.

The 18" -2 version are in stock and ready to ship, you can run them if you trim the rotor or run a spacer. The only deal is they are not a direct bolt on at the moment.

are you serious or is this an april fools joke? come on man! now what? Can we just wait until they get the 18's retooled and how long will that be?

Since i have to get new hubs and rotors (6 lug to 5 lug) what should i buy to make these wheels fit? I'm basically starting from scratch to make hese wheels fit.

To make the current 18s fit, you need the light-duty (1" thick) rotors up front, which require different spindles and calipers as well. If you're replacing this stuff anyway, it's no big deal -- just be sure of what you're ordering. Out back, there's no issue other than making sure your backspacing is correct, which may require spacers and will be an issue even after the new revision is out, since the only thing being changed is the hub bore.

Well i like having the option instead of being limited to one size but if i have to instead of not getting them at all i will, but if i wait since i'm not ready just yet, do you think this issue will be resolved in a month?

It doesn't seem that even the manufacturer can give an ETA on these. Could be a week, could be a month, could be much longer. Considering that people have been throwing out dates since last fall that turned out to be wishful thinking, I wouldn't count on anything. I didn't even think about trying to get a group buy started until after it was confirmed that the revised wheels were shipping. At the time I only cared about grey 20s, which were in stock when I started this thread, but now I've decided on chrome 20s instead and I'm in the same boat as the 18" guys now. All we can do is wait.

yeah what he said...when I first ran into this problem I called ECE to see what they thought and they said I could take my drop spindles off and they could replace (uhhh shoot, whats that part called) the THING so they'd accept the 1" rotors but I didnt have a place to do the work and leave on jacks for a couple weeks so I held off....but it is an option. BUT back to what Brossow said, if your not done with the conversion none of this is even an issues...just plan acccordingly

Alright, forgive my ignorance, but since i havent started the conversion from 6bolt to 5 and drums to rotors, youre saying just get the wheels i paid for as they are and get the spindles and rotors that will work with them ? Can you help me to know which will work with these wheels besides just 1" thick rotors?

a link with pictures would be great.

I haven't done this personally, so I'll leave the details to someone who has. It's described in the original thread, IIRC. (Link to that thread is at the top of the first post in this thread.)

call the guys at Early Classic Enterprises (888.777.0395). I cant remember the guys name I spoke with. It wasnt Stan though....damn Im bad with names..
I didnt do it like I said because I didnt have a garage I could do the work and wait for them to be shipped back....but when I told them the issue, they didnt seem as if it were a problem.

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**

Can someone please tell me what the diameter and length (mounting surface to tip of dustcap) of a stock 1.25" rotor is? I converted my 63 GMC to 5 lug using an SSBC kit for a 75 Chevy and the hub looks huge to me. These new 338's are supposed to clear them, right?

Sublvr72 - Did you get my PM about changing my order? Not trying to be pushy, just want to get the money right with you so hopefully I can get the 20's shipped this week still. Thanks.

The Black -3 revisions are still in production, no certain ETA yet on when they will be ready to ship.

and the worse news... the 18" rims have NOT been retooled yet. Eagle gave me an 18" rim today to test fit. -2 is the current revision on the 18" and I can confirm that it DOES NOT FIT the larger 1.25" rotor. It will however fit the 1" rotor.

So those of you who ordered 18" rims let me know what you want to do, I can refund your order, or we can upgrade you to 20" wheels.

Now that the bad news is out of the way, the good news is the 20" wheels are shipping this week. I should be getting tracking information from Eagle before the end of the week for all of you guys. Once I receive it I will shoot everyone emails with tracking info.
Sublvr72,
I guess I am going to hold off for now. I just seen the post.... I will think about the 20's
If you can PM me to let me know you got this.
Thanks

Hey guys, sorry I've been out in San Diego on business. I'll check and reply to all PM's in the morning. I got them, just haven't had a chance to open any of them.

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**

So let me get this straight I ordered the 18's and they will not fit? I seen a cat on here that grinded a little bit around his hub and they ended up fitting I think this was for 20's would this be the same case for the 18's let me know something that way I can either change to 20's or cancel my order thanks

The 20s have been revised and released in grey; chrome and black are in the pipeline. The 18s have not, despite earlier reports to the contrary. They will be changed eventually, but no ETA right now. If you want something that fits right now, your only choice is grey 20s.

Leviticus, is that with 1 1/2 rotor with 2 7/8 diameter?
What version is that? -2AA
What wheel is it for the 18s or the 20s?
If it is 20, will it be same mod for 18s?

Those are the revised 20s (-3-AA part #) as shown in his thread here. His hub seems to have been significantly thicker than those on my stock 1.25" rotors. (The measurements from my digital caliper are posted elsewhere in this thread.) No idea why his would have been different, but there ya have it. Measure before ordering because YMMV.

As I said in response to your PM, the 18s will require significant machine work on the hubs to make them fit as documented in the other thread. Leviticus just hit his with a grinder to knock down a bit on the edge. For some reason his hubs were apparently a lot thicker than mine, specs for which are posted elsewhere in this thread.

is there a DIY on swapping out the drums to the rotors? Since i havent done this yet, i will just order the parts that will fit and like DirtyJack said, i'll call ECE to order the parts. But if someone can send me a link to the actual job i'd much appreciate it!!

Brossow... just send me the wheels i ordered, i wont wait.

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**

sorry for sounding ignorant here, but just wanted to make sure:

the grey 20's, in a 8.5 front and 10 rear, are ready to ship? or are they back ordered?

the 18 x 8's are in stock, right and ready to ship?

i have 1" rotors, so i shouldnt have a problem w/hub issues, i dont think either way, just trying to decide between the 18's and the 20's....cant seem to make up my mind....if i know one is in stock and ready to go, and one isnt, that would help me decide

thank you

I have nothing to do with your order. Contact Sublvr72 about that. I just got the ball rolling on this; Sublvr72 is the business end of things.

They are the only revised wheels in stock and ready to ship. Everything else involved in the -3 revision is still in production.

With the 1" rotors, there are no hub issues using the old revision, either 18s or 20s. The old 18s (and 20s, I assume) are in stock and ready to ship in all finishes (AFAIK -- verify through Sublvr72).
