What is the best way to polish the dash lens?

Re: Dash bezel lens

I replaced mine. I tried polishing mine, but couldn’t get all the scratches out. My new one was so much clearer.
If you do a search, you’ll get quite a few threads, where people have done the polishing.

I always use Meguiars Plastix cleaner. If you just have light scratches and dirt it will do great and make a lot clearer. If it is yellowed and badly sun faded get a new one

I’m needing one for an 88-91 with trip odometer and clock, but have only found ones for the clock. Maybe I’ve overlooked them. Don’t want to try to drill one, as scared of it cracking, especially the way my hands are starting to shake.

88-91? In my spare time I’ll help look around. I’m still on the mend, so I have a lot of downtime and need something to do.

Tina, hope you get to feeling better. Seems the older I get, the harder it is to mend, but I can’t complain, life has been good.

Yes in 88, the Suburban, Blazer and crew cab got a speedo with trip odometer. Now I just need to find a decent lense out of a vehicle that had the “quartz electric clock” option

Will these be the same as the trucks, or not? I’m going to assume not, if they have a trip odometer.

Yes they will work in the 81-87 square body as the 88-91 Blazer, Suburban and crew cab remained square body until 92.

Lots of LS swappers look for the dash from these trucks out of the 90-91, as it is direct bolt in, but the speedometer is electronic to work off the VSS signal of the newer style transmissions. (The 88-89 are still cable driven speedometers)

Here is an 88 speedometer I have, next to the speedometer of my 84 it will be replacing
