Millermatic 90 vs Lincoln Mig Pak10

I have had a Mig Pak10 for about 5 years. Like it.

Always told that Millers are much nicer.

I found a Millermatic 90 used (broken) on the local forsale forum. Got it for $150. Traced the issues and it will need a new fan. So its going to be about $250 for the welder all in.

The spec's on the two welders are virtually identical; 90ish amps each, 20% duty each, 18VDC.

The miller is 80lbs, and the Lincoln is just 48lbs.

Also the Miller has 5-80ipm vs the lincolns 50-300 ipm (wire feed rate).

Any thoughts on which one to keep?

I am torn between, the lincolns newer, very clean appearance, and the Millers - been around for ages...

Thoughts?

5ipm doesn't sound right to me. A high of 80 sounds awfully low too.

I'd try running both and see which one you prefer. I suspect you'd be better off buying both and picking up something a little bigger, with gas.

Sorry I miss typed that. The Miller spec in the manual is 5-800 ipm.

I am going to pickup the new fan today, and try a "weld-off" this weekend some time...
