73 BLAZER Price Help

Hey everyone, I looked at a 73 blazer that's for sale locally and I'm not as familer with these when it comes to a fair price. This one is rare here in Northern IL because the body is in real nice shape. Floors, rockers, rocker box's, and rear floor support are all almost perfect. It does have a little rust over the rear wheel wells. The guy is asking $1500 for it, but the motor is bad and it has set at least 2yrs. Also it still has the TH350 w/ 203 so i would want to install a 205 or 208 so it would be a little better on gas LOL. Thank's Jason

Re: 73 BLAZER Price Help

Doesn't sound too bad if the body is in decent shape. If you are swapping to a 208 case, put a 700R4 in it too. If not, just put the part time kit in the 203 case and you are good to go. That is a lot cheaper. I don't think the terms "73 Blazer" and "easy on gas" will be used together too often, though.

I`d look a little harder for rust.Unless that thing was imported to your area and kept off the winter roads and kept inside away from most rain, there`s got to be more rust. These are the most rust-prone years that gave Chevys the rust bucket reputation that took years to live down.

I looked it over pretty good and there is not much rust at all. The first time i had talked to the owner he said it had come from out west. It must not have been in IL to many years now because it looks fairly original. I'd say it's been painted within the last 5 years or so. The floors and rocker don't look like they have been replaced.
