Steps for Swapping a Rear?

I am swapping a GM 10 bolt truck rear this weekend. Taking the dead one off and replacing it with a healthy rear. What are the "swapping rears for dummies" steps? Anything that would speed this process up or make it easier? Thank you in advance for any advice.

Re: Steps for Swapping a Rear?

It should be a simple unbolt and swap procedure. put jackstands under the framerails, and swap them out. If your replacement has the emergency brake cables already in place, you should be set. Bleeding the rear brake system would be the next hardest step.

Re: Steps for Swapping a Rear?

My buddy told me that most people just cut the Ubolts? That reusing them is out of the question. I've always wanted to add a helper leaf spring, and those kits typically come with new Ubolts... Would that suffice as a replacement?
