Dana 44 rear diff questions
A bud just purchased a 44 rear diff(Youkon 4.10 gears & a power loc diff), said to be set up to fit his 82 chevy shortbed. It bolted in, but due the drive shaft length issues, he tried to fit the original yolk from his 12 bolt (yikes, I wish he would have asked 1st)! At any rate, I know that the 12 bolt diff runs a crush collar...& that needs to be replaced, along with the pinion seal after the yolk is removed? The question is on the 44....does it run solid shims, tween the pinion bearings, or will it require a crush collar, to set the preload on the bearings? Longhorn

Re: Dana 44 rear diff questions
The Dana does not use a crush sleeve.
