Drum to disk from a donor truck. What parts?

My buddy has an 8 lug front disk truck and I have a 4 drum 8 lug truck. Hes hooking me up with the front disk and parts.
What all do I need to put the front disk setup on my truck?? Thanks.

Just ask for the front cross member with the suspension still bolted on it.

What year are both trucks?

Best scenario: park the donor next to the donee.

I took the whole front crossmember except the crossmember itself, if that makes sense. In other words, everything attached to suspension and crosssmember except the crossmember.

And if you've got room, by all means, take the crossmember!

Is swapping the whole cross member still the way to go if you are changing spindles?

I'm in the same boat but doing drop spindles also.

I have a 69 C20. Picked up a 71 C20 front end. Was going to swap it but I am rethinking that. Seems like I could do the tie rod and ball joints while I have the 69 apart and not do the full swap.

Easier to NOT do full swap? I am leaning that way since I am taking so much apart to do spindles anyway.

well you have 6 grade 5s on each side of the engine cradle( if my memorey is right) and that will seperate it from the frame take lots of pictures of brake lines and anything you may be changing beteween the years .....brake lines are different 71-72 vs 70 and down brackets that hold the rubber brake lines are on the front of a 71-72 on the back of other years brake lines up to Master are different too
