Getting another one, this time a '68 C10 50th

This deal has been in the works for a few weeks, but considering I'm in NY and the truck is in CA, it's a challenge.
Non-the-less, it was picked up today enroute to Las Vegas to meet up with it's 'brother' (my '68 BB 4sp Utility).

I've been hoping to find an original paint patina'd '67/'68 and and not even realizing there was such a thing as a "50th". Once I saw the Gold/Ivory paint scheme I was hooked.
I then stumbled upon one on CL (and while I was communicating with the owner, ...it showed up here on "CL finds" lol )
Anyway, we agreed on a price and the rest is history.

It's an original 292 6, with Turbo400.

My plans are to lower it, and since I already have a 350 SB with turbo350 trans, put those in (or leave the 400 trans). Most of all, I want to keep the patina look, and just do all the mechanicals.

My brother in Vegas thinks I'm nuts, but I'm excited to get this one.

I don't have many pics yet, but here are a few:
Just being picked up...

...and as someone on here noted, ...it even comes with "homemade whitewalls"

Definitely a static drop ,guessing about 3/5, as I don't want to get into C-notching, etc.
That whole process won't even begin until I get it back to NY. In the meantime I'll just be gathering parts.
I just spoke with the shipper, and it looks like it will be arriving at my brother's early tomorrow morning. Once it gets there, we'll do a good look over and hope there are no crazy surprises.
...did anyone ever say these trucks are addicting? lol

Re: Getting another one, this time a '68 C10 50th

The truck arrived in Vegas no problems. My brother looked it over good, and it was just as the seller had described. Other than the dented right fender and 'rust' from the battery, the truck is solid. No surprises at all, no rust, nothing and there are hardly any other dents anywhere. It still has it's original radio, and nothing has been cut up (ie no speakers in the doors).
The top it off, the protectOplate is there too.
Needless to say, I'm pretty happy

Good score!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 292/400 combo. Interesting for sure.

That is unusual to see a 292/400 combo. That's a great find all around.

Nice truck! The company I work for used to have a lot of early 80's GMC C 2500's with 292/Turbo 400's. Good combination, just about bullet-proof and pulled pretty hard.

Adding in that it had the Oil Bath Air Cleaner, HD Rear Springs and Aux Spring Eq, this thing was probably used on a farm in it's day lol

Oh, and a couple more things were added, an external oil filter and a 2nd fuel tank tucked up forward of left rear tire...

And a big Thanks To Jeff (Jeff@outintheshop.com) who's contact info I found here, and had make a backup SPID that's a bit easier to read than the original . I'll leave the original in place, but wanted to have one for readability.
