It's an offshoot of the "Dirty South" thing about putting huge wheels on older cars. Popular in the southeast and Texas.

One of the pics of the pink / yellow truck looks like it was taken at The Varsity in ATL, some of local car clubs used to have GTG's there until gangbangers started taking the place over.

Actually its just a Performer non air gap dual plane..the spacer was added to keep the fuel a little cooler going in and to also keep the throttle from hanging. Right now its a 305 4BBL 625 Cfm Demon Carb..TH350 with B&M Stage 2 shift kit.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

You know, I don't mind the white truck nearly as much as I did before reading further. It looks to be a newer ss styled bumper molded on.

22's are the biggest I like. And only on certain trucks. Beyond that is too much wheel IMO. The 28's WAAAAY over the top. And all I could think was this little guy.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

I guess i could have been a bit more specific, the bright colored ones with the big wheels are not favorites, but they hadn't been posted yet either. and yes, those big wheeled, flashy color ones are from ATL.

I do kinda like the black and green one with color matching wheels as those are 2 of my favoite colors together.

^ I agree with others, 22'' are as big as they need to be to me. 26'', 28'' nahhhhh not for me, but to each his own rite?

Thumbs up Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

Not a 28' fan either but it's not my truck. If that is what you like ,stick with it and rock that shi ! With that being said, both are very nice trucks. I especially like the white one and actually think the rims don't look bad on it at all. I love the front grille and body work on it. How much trouble was that to get all pieced together ? Like to see some interior and under the hood pics if you have any!

Even though the truck is in excellent condition, we are doing a frame off. we will be doing a frame swap because the owner wants it to be 4wd.

here is the frame we picked up from the sandblasting place today, its a 79

heres the same truck today, still a short bed, its kept me busy for a month and i still have the interior to get back together:
