Any body running these MagnaFlow glass packs???

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-18146/

Im wondering how they sound and if you like them, all other exhaust systems are welcome here too. If you guys have sound clips of your exhausts thatd be great also.
Thanks

Re: Any body running these MagnaFlow glass packs???

When you talk those kinda of mufflers the top 3 are

CherryBomb
CherryBomb
&
CherryBomb

now someone may bring up Thrush and I would agree but guess who owns them now and uses their tech in the straight shot glass packs, why Thrushes are red now
[though if you found some NOS blue [has to be blue] Thrushes id by em if your rich n got money to burn.]

Though those type sound the best when installed right off the headers or Y pipe and then run a full length tail pipe off it.

Think of a musical horn, the part that blows is the engine, the glass pack is the mouth piece, the tail pipe is the horn.

They sound like crap when they just dump, or are way in the back to far from the motor.

no sounds clips but Ive had them on many different types n sizes of motors and that always turns heads for the best.

Everything I have seen from Magnaflow is nice stuff. In high school my 70 had headers with 18" Purple Hornies bolted to the collectors and 2 1/4" pipe straight out the back. Music to my ears, yet not loud in the cab at all.

I just installed a magna flo on my 2006 6.0 and it is awesome! It does not have the resonance that flowmasters have and still sounds throaty when you get on it. I will buy them again. I also have a set of borlas that I am anxious to hear, but will have to get back to you on that.

Re: Any body running these MagnaFlow glass packs???

on my 99 corvette I had a "magnapack" exhaust system that used similar mufflers (SS) with no cats and long tubes. It sounded great if you wanted to hear your exhaust. Not so great if you wanted to hear the person setting next to you. Yeah, it was loud.

Re: Any body running these MagnaFlow glass packs???

I liked the magnapacks sound alot better than the new glass packs. There 4" round body mufflers sound more refined while still doing an ok job of cancelling noise.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-10416/?rtype=10

They made the product to compete with the other cheap glass pack companies...basically make a better product for the same price.

I have standard true dual glass packs on my truck now and I can't wait to ditch them for a full magnaflow header back.
