I had a good friend who lived part time in P.R. Its a mix of US and Import cars so I knew some guys with old Chevy's, and others with Import-only diesels that we can't get in the mainland.

You guys still doing the dune-climbs and stuff out in the sand?

2002 suburvan 1500 4wd and Steering rack and pinion from 1992 ford mustang.

how did you mount up the suburban front axle/suspension? I have been trying to find a drivers side drop dana 44, but they are not real common apparently. so this would be another option.

There very easy install the only modification to swap and suburvan IFS system is only The Axles haft shaft Driver side have to shotened by a 5/8" inches and driver side add 5/8" inches, the other just mount fabrication and coil over installation.

What hub did you use to get the 5 lug pattern or did you have it redrilled? Any other pictures of the front suspension? Pretty slick project!

Yes!! NV 149 For the Moment, But im working on GM 246 this unit is servo motor controlled so mean i can use AWD just when i needed by a flip of button or automatic mode.

Very interesting build.....I like it.

I know you don't have good parts availability there in PR, but I wonder if an AWD Astro/Safari hub would bolt up to the spindle and fit the axle. Those are already 5 x 5.

not familiar with the GM246 unit.....but know that the NVG-149 is one b@d@$$ AWD unit. The torque split is awesome and they can handle all kinds of HP. Guys putting all kinds of power to them....like a Gear Vendors OD. I owned a '01 Sierra C3 and wish I had never let it go. Amazing traction in nearly any scenario....pulled a Mustang uphill on slick ice and never spun a wheel...on stock Michelins....then found out he had is e-brake on the whole time and that I was dragging vs pulling him. LOL! Just one example.

Hi, ive a Silverado SS with twin Turbo Setup with 800 Hp at the wheels it currenly have an nv 149 behind of 4l80e with input shaft adapter we have lot troubles with the vicous coupler to handle big power, i dont know if in the market have aftermarket vicous coupling can handle more power.
