Re: "One really slow build" thread

Got some more done today

Got the upper rad hose on (still working on the lower)
And started on my electric fans

There will be two (and this one is just mocked up)

I forgot to measure, but do you think my fans are: too close, not close enough, or just fine ?

Do you have full length headers? My glasspacks run straight back... on either side of the Trans. Also you have to think about how low you're gonna go? my buddy had a '72 blazer that was slammed to the ground and had the chrome '67 corvette pipes along the cab back to the wheels. You should just run straight back until you get under the bed then turn 'em out toward the wheels. I don't know?... it's your call!

Re: "One really slow build" thread

If I do run them outside the frame, I'll cut a hole in the frame & put a piece of 1/4" pipe / box the inside (for the pipe to run through)

But I think I'm not gonnna run em outside, because of the extra work (I wanna get my truck finished)

Re: "One really slow build" thread

Well I have decided to run a "normal" fan for a while, just to get my truck on the road

I went to a show with Tav the other night & just really wished I had my truck

I am getting really close, so I'm trying not to do anything I don't have to
Plus it'll give me little weekend projects to do

I have to finish my X-member install, hook up the drive shaft (and maybe have it cut down), do my exhaust, tweak my throttle peddle, put a new water pump on, & prolly some other things I'm not thinking of

Hope to finish soon

"One really slow build" thread *Get'n Close*

Well I'm get'n close to be'n finished (is there such a thing )

I changed out the leaky water pump & put on a "normal" fan

Mocked up my exhaust, so I could hear it (It sounds awesome )

But now the bad news
I was putting on my "new" rear yoke (that part went fine), but when I went to hook up the drive shaft I was tightening it up & one of the bolts snapped off in the yoke

On with the pics

Old pump

New pump

My fan is huge (keeps the engine at 150, with no shroud)

Re: "One really slow build" thread

Painted a door panel

Don't remember showing a pic of my wheels (This one is the worst, cuz PO's cat like to pee in it)

Old exhaust (my new exhaust will do the same, but be hidden)

Couple of random pics

Don't think I ever showed a pic of the tool tray I built

Good to hear about the progress - any chance you got a sound clip of the exhuast? If so, post it up!

Re: "One really slow build" thread

Does suck about the bolt breaking - how's your access to it to be able to get the remaining portion out?

Re: "One really slow build" thread

Well I picked up the pipe & hangers for my exhaust yesterday, so I will be getting that on today

I also plan to get my rear yoke & X-member finished, that'll be everything under the truck

So by Tuesday, I plan to be street legal & on the road

Re: "One really slow build" thread

Ok, I got my exhaust on, rear yoke on, & some little tinkery things
I went for a cruise & came back with a couple of leaks I need to fix, but nothing major

I have some more tinkering to do, but I should be on the road by Tuesday
