dana44 spline?
Question on splines: Should a 1970 dana 44 have 19 or 30 splines on the inner shafts? I was looking at different differential parts and noticed that 71 and newer have 30 listed and 70 and older have 19 listed. I thought all open knuckle 44s had 30 splines. I'm only talking inner axles I believe the stubs all have 19. Thanks,

I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm

My 70 has the same spline count as the newer ones. I learned that when I did the disc brake swap. The newer axle shafts are way beefier too.
This doesn't answer your question on what it should have but thats what mine did have. Im pretty sure it was the original axle.
