Board Member Sport/Truck(formerly DMX84) SPID. Although it is a Sierra Grande, it does list Custom Sport Truck as well.

Board member gregbr SPID. Again a Sierra Grande, but maybe it could happen with a Cheyenne Super too. It's all speculation until the pics.

Most importantly, a PhotoShop Wiz needs to create what a '69 SS would have looked like.

Love to see that SS396 grill emblem....

Re: Cheyenne super sport?

Uh uh...it says Super Spor. I`ve never seen that.Either way, ther`s no such thing as a Cheyenne SuperSport. It`s not a model that was offered by GM.It`s not listed in the dealer ordering books nor in any other text such as sales brochures. The Custom Sport Truck listing is for CST package.

I take it you've seen it before!!

I've seen all kinds of weird and inconsistant info info on SPIDs, so it doesn't surprise me at all. If had to bet on it, I'd say that SPID is factory.

Re: Cheyenne super sport?

Talk about irony!

As soon as I hit Submit Reply on the last post I see this. Yellowdog just posted this. Its a '71 Custom Camper/20 with a 396 cu in engine option. We all know that there were no 396's put in these trucks after '69, yet here it is on the SPID.

Re: Cheyenne super sport?

I have seen the "Cheyenne super sport" listed on the spid also. I have tons of glove boxes stashed away and i am sure I can find one that says that. Its just a Cheyenne super, not an 'SS" truck or anything like that. Just one of the odd things GM typed.

And I cant wait for pics either!!! Sounds like a great truck!!!!

Yes I know, but its technically still incorrect. I have a '71 Cheyenne with Custom Sport Truck and that is pretty common too, but it just goes to show that the SPID isn't always correct. That's all was I saying.

Re: Cheyenne super sport?

Sometimes it IS listed as "Cheyenne Super Sport" on the SPID. As many have said they were never badged as Super Sport trucks and none of the dealer literature mentions anything about it. Some just have that, many don't. Here are few.
