Post T-Day Duties

Since I have to work some over the weekend, and my son is home for the holiday, the wife decided to do the decorating for Christmas after we finished eating. Well, meal is done, so onward to the chores. I did my part in the decorating.

Now to watch my belly shrink.

Re: Post T-Day Duties

I'm off till Monday and single. I worked on the house taking advantage of the great weather. Before the weekend is over I hope to have the Christmas lights up and on, heater switch/new stereo in my Suburban, a few things on the house painted, and more prep work toward moving my little barn.

Re: Post T-Day Duties

My thanksgiving tasks are simple.

1. Get the paper ads (I have never gone Black Friday shopping, but the fam loves that stuff).

2. Carve the turkey when it’s ready.

3. Pray for the meal.

4. Pig out. My wife cooks about 18 courses by herself for the whole fam, she is pretty awesome.

Currently letting things settle to make room for cheesecake. No complaints here!

Re: Post T-Day Duties

Quick clean up and outside I went. Winterized one mower. Pulled a spare T350 trans out and dropped the pan. Well, let's just say it wasn't as fresh as I was lead to believe. Pan full of crap. It'll have to be rebuilt. I have a friend who has offered to do it if I decide not to myself. No hurry though. Closed the shop and went back in for some cake!

Re: Post T-Day Duties

Not much to do today. I cleaned up yesterday. It was just the two of us. My wife worked. She takes the holiday shifts at the hospital so other nurses with kids can get the day off.

I bought a new computer today. Mine is making weird humming noises. I figured I'd try some of the Black Friday sales and try and save a couple bucks. I have a strong suspicion that this computer is going to crash anytime. I'm trying to get ahead of that.

I talked to my mother on the phone. I sent her a gourmet Thanksgiving meal from this place online. She loved it and it was about the same price as sending flowers. She's 90 years old and can't drive or do much anymore. I wanted her to have a good meal. And this was the ticket. She was very happy.

Now I just need to clean up my wife's Fiat. The Carvana people made a good offer on it and I could use the space. I might just dust it off because it's cold outside and it's not dirty. It's just a little dusty. They're supposed to be here today. We'll see if they show up.

Re: Post T-Day Duties

Went to work T-night till 1ish, then got up and handled Oldest kid's girlfriend's meeting with the adjuster about the car she totalled hitting a deer last weekend. Came out ok, so we went to look at another, which is a total cream puff. He's gotta straighten out some paper and we'll get it in a bit. Back at work tonight, taking the weekend off, I think.
