Static Drop how much Clearance ?

I recently lowered my 64 C10.
4 1/2 inches in front with drop spindles & lowering springs.
Rear 4 inch lowering springs.
I like the stance, but the lower control arms sit about 4 1/2 off the ground.
It's winter here in PA so I wont be able to drive it for a few months.
Is 4 1/2 inches of clearance enough ??

It is always vehicle and road condition specific but most hot rod builders have used the "magic number" of 4" ground clearance as the minimum.

My daily-driven '77 C10 has the control arms 3.25" off the ground, and has not been a problem at all for anything, but you need to be aware of driving a lowered truck (on the road six years now: sun, rain, shine, snow; it's my daily).

I -have- ripped the header collector flanges four times now. When these headers are done, I'll get Chevelle headers that don't hang so low.

My '61 has the control arms 3.75" off the ground, but it's not on the road yet, and also is pancaked 2".

4" is a good rule-of-thumb.
