When you take your cluster apart you're going to find that some cutting was done to get that after market gauge in there. To go back with a factory gauge and have it look right that part will have to be replaced.

I agree. You will need the backing plate that holds the 2 gauges. Check with byrd on that part. He is the gauge guru and should have that part for you.

I picked up a cluster for spare parts about two years ago at the local salvage yard or a stake body c20. I'm going to attempt to us the temp gauge from that one.

Green that should have all the parts needed to make the changeover back to original, that is if the temp gauge is good

Thanks for the info. Never thought much about the wire being located so close to the header. I need more pics or info. What is the sending unit suppossed to look like coming out of the block? Is there a harness, wire, two wires, or what coming out of the block? What goes the gauge. Again, one wire, two wires, what?
