I know some people use spacers under one spring to level out the truck. If it bothers you too much.....that is probably the answer.

That's a good thing. I always owe at tax time

I haven't measured at the wheel wells.....I just checked frame to floor. With my old droopy springs the lean was about an inch, now its less than 1/4".

Re: Build thread, 70 c10 my first ride

well didnt get a whole lot accomplished this weekend..... dad finally got the hitch off. it was welded to the frame.... and imagine that.. the frame is now within 1/4" from side to side.. then we started to remove the tow furthest back frame braces to fit the new tank in/notch the frame, then we will put the one brace back... also got the gas tank out of the cab. other then that I had my body guy come out and check the truck out and tell me what all I needed to replace... I bought a MS3 cam and some 32# injectors this weekend for the 4.8l getting pretty excited bout that!

Re: Build thread, 70 c10 my first ride

well my goal is:
have the engine/ trans/ wiring harness in
pcm tuned
cab floor
door skins
rocker panels
cab corners
bumpers on
re-assembled entirely
then paint all the patch sections with some sort of green just for the rest of the year..
I want to be done with that stuff by September 15th so I can have a couple of days driving it around then to take it to the Indianapolis Good Guys car show!!! she wont be done by then but it will be a whole truck again
guna take some serious knuckling down to make that goal but i think it might be doable!

then next year I will completely repaint it back to the original green

I wonder how they welded that hitch and loaded the frame. Maybe it wasn't on level ground or something.

Re: Build thread, 70 c10 my first ride

well progress seems to be slow even though i spent all day yesterday working on stuff.. got the tank mounted where we want it still going to have to take it back down to make some top straps and add some camper weather strip as a bumper to keep the straps from cutting the tank, once that is done my hands are tied on the fuel system til my filter/reg comes in (hopefully tomorrow). also we started to remove the pass side trailing arm with intentions of welding the seem together, painting, then polyurethane bushings, but we couldn't get the u bolts to let the arm drop even though I had the nuts off ant the shock mount off... also cleaned up/painted the steering column bracket, panhard bar, and the little brackets that hold the hood bump stops. tried to install poly bushings in the panhard and damaged one side so now i have to get new ones... on a side not my girlfriend is awesome (she called one of my buddies, he got me really into the ls swap idea... she asked him what i need for my swap...) she ordered me a early anniversary gift (April 17 will be 3 years) new pacesetter ls1 headers didnt take to many pics as my phone was being dumb.. but I have a pic of the tank hung (not the final fit though)

Any progress is progress. But you're going to really have to keep on it to make your goal. Not that it isn't possible, but when the weather warms up, you're going to need to stay focused and not get sidetracked by all the other things there are to do. (That means partying , Im old, so I can say that!) Your GF sounds like a keeper though!

Re: Build thread, 70 c10 my first ride

Those 4th gen F-body tanks already have a regulator built in to the tank, you dont need to corvette filter. If you use the vette filter you have to take out the in-tank one

Re: Build thread, 70 c10 my first ride

i was not aware of the in tank regulator... not trying to question your knowledge.... but i didnt see anything that looked like a regulator, can you show me where its located or refer me to a web page? so i know for sure.. because this sending unit has 3 connections on top one i assume is pressure, one is return, and one is for evap?

Re: Build thread, 70 c10 my first ride

well over the weekend I finally got my control arms off... they were a real pain to remove without cutting the ubolts... anyways they had SERIOUS rust issues... some holes were 1x2 or even 1.5x3 holes in the side of the arms... so i carefully seperated them and cut the bad sections out and added some 10 gauge in place... took forever... and i only got one side done in about 5 hours worth of work... and i still need to replace the bushings and weld the two sides together... anyways.. i have a bunch of pics of the carnage

Re: Build thread, 70 c10 my first ride

Ashley (my gf) did me a favor and painted the needles for my gauge cluster also I started working on my harness... I removed the pins according to lt1 swap, then I slowly started removing the sleeving and stuff off it and untangling the removed wires from the mess lol, no pics of the harness.... because its extremely boring LOL
