You guys are GOOOD... too good. I am outta my league here. Someone should contact him, and link him to this thread. Let him know folks are on to him. May make him think twice before falsifying an ad again.

Good resto for sure, but bad representation. He could have just listed it as a nice resto and highlighted the many +'s the truck does have. Instead he trys to trick the unknowing. Don't stand too close to this guy in a lightning storm... Karma has a way of equalling the score.

Maybe we should all start asking questions, and see how they are answered. hehe

IS it just me or do the fittings for the a/c look like the larger 134 fittings...i think an original 500 k truck would still have a working r 12 system...or maybe my eyes are decieving me

Rear view mirror should be stuck on the windshield.

Yes - Nit pickin is fun. Back to the "original sticker" - the options are not listed in the correct order. The Axx should be ahead of the Bxx etc. Also I think tilt is N33 not A53 as listed.

Another thing I noticed was the woodgrain overlay on the gauge bezel looks bubbled just where the early bezel would have a hole.

Noticed the price was just short of $11,000 and not at reserve. Some people are very proud of their chit.

That said it is still nicer than my drivers.

Woodgrain applique looks vinyl and new.I`m thinking this guy may not be lieing, just ignorant as those he hopes will believe his description.Probably not the restorer, but a seller(dealer). He must not know what Below Eyeline Mirrors are.Or,that the type is wrong on the option sticker, dual not available w/SB,`72-only items, that the VIN-spec is not original or done properly,Or that a 51,000 mile truck wouldn`t have needed 1/2 those things replaced.I wonder what we`d find up close and in the flesh.Somebody`s going to be p.o`d!

It looks like the pasenger side door alignment is off and the trim piece behind the drivers front wheel is crooked also. The front trim piece in front of the right front wheel is either too long or was put on too far back (and crooked also) because it's into the wheel well area. It also looks like the antenna is too far back on the cowl, but I don't have an antenna on mine so I can't compare it....so much for "Show or GO"

here is an email I sent him

You have many discrepancies in your listing. Any one that knows these trucks can tell by just looking at the truck. and the "original" option plate. It is a fake. Oh by the way its Tachometer Not tackometer. as its is spelled on your "original" option plate, We are having fun picking your listing apart, hell I am even thinking of reporting this.

Good move.I tryed to contact him,but I`ve never registered w/e-bay
.I guess since my wife is,it confused the computer since I have the same info except e-mail.Thanks,I`ve had thoughts about reporting.Especially since I see he`s a "Classic Car Dealer".I don`t think it`s ignorance, now.I`m building my`72 Chevy C/10 SWB(2 options)into a`67 GMC Custom Stepside(with lots of factory options).I figure I`ll be explaining over and over what it "really" is.You can do what you want, just don`t lie.

Gotta love it... Certainly a nice looking truck, I wouldn't mind rockin' it.

Someone mentioned with it only having 51K on it, that it shouldn't have to have all that stuff replaced. Not true in all cases. Depends on how/where the vehicle was used & stored. My dad has a 1952 Chevy Fleetline Deluxe 2 dr(fastback). Car was bought with 6,339.9 original miles on it. Car was parked in a barn with the windows down. Roof leaked, rotted the doors, floors, rockers and even the bead on one of the rims. Kids used the interior as a motel room & the roof as a slide & scratched the hell out of the glass. Oh, forgot to mention, transmission was jammed in 2nd gear and couldn't get it out. BUT, the car does have 6,340 original, documented miles(bought from the original owners estate in 1982. He died in 1957 and the farm was abandoned) Yes, he did restore it

What, no speed warning equipped. Whats with the lower moulding, is it supposed to look like a roller coaster. Looks like both rockers were fixed, well almost. You know the sad thing is, if it wasn't for this board and all of the info I have learned over the years, I may have thought this was a good deal and not a scam. Thanks guys.

You know, I know the 72 mirror should be stuck to the window. But mine isn't. I had heard that in the very beginning of the 72 production year they were still using the older rearview mirror to use them up.
I could be wrong on that. Maybe my cab was replaced.
I'll tell you true though. With the temps that Texas can hit, I sure am glad my mirror is bolted up instead of glued up.

Like already mentioned, the first thing that jumped out at me was the
doors, no screw under the vent windows, and A/C looks different.

This looks like one of the contests in the Sunday paper. Spot the differences in an original truck and this one. Winner could win a trip to the islands. (he he)

Another thing , shouldn't the seatbelts match the seat? I don't know if this is true but people have nitpicked my stuff and I have heard this. I am also pretty sure the steering wheel should match the column. He has updated his auction to say that the glovebox sticker is a repro and that he did not build this truck. He is only selling it for a friend and is not trying to misrepresent it.
