Tangerine pearl
I've seen a butterscotch pearl, and that's what I'd like, but I couldn't find a picture of it.

Agreed. That's a great color. It's also about $3,000,000,000 a gallon and requires baby-butt smooth bodywork before you spray it. I have neither of these . This truck is a semi-daily driver and I currently live in a curs'ed land of potholes and crappy drivers... so... I'm going to go for a "nice" paint job on a "nice" bit of bodywork... which also rules out black.

It looks we have quite a large congregation of orange-lovers as well. I like hugger orange (a lot, actually) but I see it on a '69 Camaro and nothing else. I used to have a silver Blazer that I had hooptey'd up, but the color never really grabbed me. I liked the way it looked up close, but from any distance it made me think of a '90's Buick or something-- just not snappy enough.

Oh, Lippyp, why on earth would I want to attract bees!

I like the Benneton multi-color look, but VW already did it... oh... and it ain't happenin' on my truck! BTW, I have seen a photo of a 67-72 stepside done this way. It was done at the bolt-on level so each fender front and rear were different, as were the doors, cowl, hood, tailgate, etc. It was a rolling billboard for a boneyard somewhere.

Thanks all for the suggestions. Keep them coming. I'm realllllllly leaning toward the Grabber blue, which was actually my first choice when I bought the truck a few years ago.

Another thing to consider is what color interior you want to go with as this may narrow down your choice of colors. IMO, red is too common; the mint green color looks maybe a little to "old". I originally was going with hugger orange, but decided against it (and am glad I did) since I started to notice how common it was also. If you're like me, you have boxes full of old car/truck magazines. Look through them to get ideas. Of course the way colors look in magazines aren't exactly like they are in person. I chose my turquoise color after seeing a '55 Chevy in a magazine. I went to the paint shop, had a small amount mixed and did a test spray on a fender. So no matter what color you choose, test it out first to make sure you like it. I'm happy with my choice.

Of your choices, I would pick Teal, but why not Competition ORANGE.....Red is So overdone and I want BLUE on my truck....so that is reserved.

There was a little 62 nova @ the street machine nats several yrs back that was painted the factory med green but he added some silver/pearl that lightenend the overall color & it looked very nice + it's close to our factory color. Since you dont have plans to get it nice enough to shoot black I would think the 'grabber blue' would look good but I would suede it out so it's not all shiny & since it's a driver, it would be much easier to touch-up if needed ( sitting that low it will need frequent touch-ups around the grill/headlight areas!). The 'cool bus' or 'cheez wiz' oranges are cool as well & both would look good w/a tan/beige interior color.

Yep, I've seen the truck in real life, and it's definitely realllllllly close if it's not exact. The truck is definitely NOT metallic.

BTW, here was the inspiration when I bought the truck a few years ago. I have drawn out the flames I was planning-- only from the front tips of the fenders back to lick the rear corners of the cab, nothing more, no hood flames and very thin and light on the sides. I'll try to post a picture of one of the flame sketches to give you all an idea of what they look like.

Yes, I believe it first appeared in 1971 and was available on the Mustang Mach I and the Maverick. I believe it was also available on some "special" package for the pickup.

Two words: Blood Red. It'll look mean enough to sport that color.
