Frame owners:It`s gonna be a truck

Let`s see them!
I know I`m not the only one.How many have or had just a frame and people wonder what the heck you are doing? It`s a sign of a truly sick trucknaut.Whether you tore a truck down or gave someone good money for just a foundation,it`s something only the keenest of minds can comprehend. Not for your average Ken Keyturner or Harry Hopandgo. No,we are the Tommy Tearitaparts and Petey Putogethers of the world.
So,who has a frame at their place right now?I wish I could move to a neighborhood with a covenent mandating at least one frame be on the property at any given time.Ah...Utopia....

Here`s my pride`n`joy, project "Poor Boy".I had to move it from my shop to my house:

Re: Frame owners:It`s gonna be a truck

I guess I kinda fit this category, but my frame still has a cab on it. For all practical purposes, it's just a chassis....no engine/tranny; cab is gutted. Except for the four bolts that hold the cab to the chassis, it's a chassis.

Re: Frame owners:It`s gonna be a truck

Wow!What a coincidence. All our projects look the same!

I got mine all reshened up and ready to start setting things in and on it before covering for winter.I just got the gears for the rear so I can rebuilt that over the winter. The transmission needs gone over before I can set the motor down.If I can get those two things done over winter I`ll be happy. Then,I can get a driveshaft fitted up and run exhaust.I`ll no longer be a member of the rolling frame club after that.
Not for long, though. That`s the point I`m wanting to be at so I can start tearing into project "Up In The Air",starting with stripping the body off down to the frame.

Re: Frame owners:It`s gonna be a truck

Mine has been Four trucks so far.

Let me rephrase that...5 trucks...3 69's 1 87 and one 77 has given its parts to make this truck become a possibility to be a truck again.

Re: Frame owners:It`s gonna be a truck

2 years ago I started cleaning the engine compartment from leaking valve covers. I went from valve covers to frame off in about a weekend. Takes longer to put back together than take apart.

Yeah, mine was just going to be a beater. A little cleaning here and a little modification there and before you know it this is what I ended up with.

I'm in. this is a frame from a 68 short fleet that was done at last years board meet.

This is a Blazer frame I bought from Big J already done.

The first frame I bought in 06, a 67 short that I was going to get started on right away. (when I get a round tuit).

A parts frame I bought from Bad Sam

I have some others in the same shape but they will never be any more than what they are. I know ........It's a sickness. But who wants a cure.

Re: Frame owners:It`s gonna be a truck

Heres my 70 4x4 I flipped the cab up so I could clean and undercoat it. The front clip is just set on there so its not taking up preciuos driveway space. The truck is painted and almost done now (so close yet so far)

Prestigious club to belong to, but you never are sad when you no longer qualify - I know it was a happy day when I got the 69's body back on the frame!

That`s so true. The best thing is you really know your vehicle when it`s done. You now exactly what you`ve got when you get it together.
