Re: 72 Short,Super,Big Block

Sounds like you've discovered the blessing/curse of having found a genuine Super SWB BB. With the SPID verifying it to be the real deal, you hate to change anything about it.

I see a ton of trucks that claim to be some part of that mix and they're not. To me, that's a bigger sin than changing the color. If you want a blue/white one, do it and don't look back. If the next owner wants it the original color, they can change it back, but I bet they won't.

I see a lot of color changes in the Corvette world, and those guys are freaky anal about originality. You'll have the truck you've always wanted, and it will be worth more on top of that.

Re: 72 Short,Super,Big Block

update! truck runs great! no smoke or leak, purrs and a turn of the key and it pops! fires right up. noticed a serious leak under the steering gear box, with the help of this wonderfull site! we fixed it in a few hours. now to replace the trans pan gasket!. and then i will start driving it daily to work and back. next is to get the air working. im sure there is a reason for the past owner removing the fan belt? and, this weekend i will install my factory am/fm and buff/wax.
man-o-man cant tell you how much i love this truck! thx again jocko!
