that Excssery bolts have so many uses.I now use them as new ground location's all over your truck makes it easier to get to and i can add more then 1 ground to the bolt.Plus if i need to use both sides in the cab i can cleans up my grounds.I have them for metric bolts and standard and fine tread.its all about making my life easier.

But the one i never see you guys showing on this whole site is the AC bracket for a 250 or a 292 Inline 6 I know nova's had them so did impala's But for the life of me never seen a chevy or GMC truck with AC with a inline 6

seen it with the 305 V6 so show me some inline 6 with AC from 1960--72.they are harder to find then the rarest GMC 1 ton short bed or the crew cab 4 door 1960--72 trucks.i've never seen any pics with the factory AC with that big A6 compressor

Here are a few loose connectors I found while working under the hood.

These two could be almost anything...

This one however is totally unknown to me... Initially I thought proportioning valve wire, Nope! My proportioning valve has a female plug.

This one is easy, however my truck does not use this type of connector because it has an external regulator.

The "washers" for tail light bezel screws came up, these can work as a replacement, though you can buy #8 counter sunk washers that are close.

The package calls these ferrule washers, but I think they're really "Cup Washers" or "Neck Washers". Difference is, these are #10, the original screws are #8. No sign of a #8 replacement "cup-washer".

The length is a bit too long. I mostly ruined the first with my vise, that doesn't work, but luckily the package has five pieces

So the last four were slipped onto a nail to hold it in place without ruining them, with just enough play so the washer spins freely between the vice & nail head of the nail for an easy cut with a Dremel. I cut more than I needed, Curtb1971 provided the exact measurements previous page. Can sand/polish the top rim using the nail if need be.

Just what few I've seen I'm surprised GM installed GR8 L8 bolts for a chrome bumper. Or any bumper unless HEAVY duty, but I'm no expert. Better the bolt busts then your frame I suppose, but your left hand horn will crack anyway if you strike a boulder, ask me how I know. Prior owner. Per my 71 L8 was used:

STEERING BOX BOLTS

UPPER CONTROL ARM BRACKET BOLTS - TOP These bolt on to fixed nuts like for the steering box. My truck had three original types, all GR8. One L8, One stamped with a circle, and two stamped with a dog bone.

ENGINE CROSSMEMBER TO FRAME RAIL WALL BOLTS. If memory serves me these take fixed nuts as well. So in a nutshell, if there's a fixed square nut in the frame for a 7/16" bolt you can bet it probably calls for GR8 "L8" type bolt.

On a side, I think there are many misconceptions where a GR8 should be used, GM didn't install many for good reason. I can say unless perhaps pulling a block, GR8 is out for long block components. Matter of fact someone long ago busted a GR8 on what's now a LH head, likely from doing just that. The heads came off a 68 Camaro BBC. I spent many hours drilling it out, and if not for my B/A son it would have been many more. I tapped it 7/16, though the hole isn't used.

How about these. Truck takes one, I have two. One is stamped "N" like the rag joint bolts. The other is stamped "WB".

Trivia, the "N" bolts on at least my ride were special bolts, for lack of a better term. Rag joint, bed to frame carriage bolts and this.

Double F were special bolts too, you know, like the one you guys haven't figured out yet post 138?

Where might 5/16-18 flange nuts be used?

One of these is 1/4-20, they were used with some heater hose retainers. I have two more someplace, they secure something to the dash

Not shift lever auto or standard. No steering column or trans related. Probably only find on low mileage trucks. Took mine off with 25k miles. Found the NOS on EBay a couple years ago.
