Did the panels come out fairly easy?

Re: Green Machine

They came out better than expected putting them back in was the trick I had to epoxy all the clips that broke and the epoxy didn't do squat so I'll try hot glue tomorrow but yeah they came out good I think.

Re: Green Machine

Figured I'd take a break from the heat and post what I've done over the past couple of days. Took the interior out to get to the back side of the quarter panel, got it mostly out, now I'm just body working the dents and such. Also took out those speakers and put 6x9's in, so now I'm running all pioneer speakers on a factory deck, which will change soon. I'll finish up body work, then I'll get all the other parts I need soon after. Anyways here are some pics.

Re: Green Machine

Today has been eventful,... Finished the body work on one side of the truck, found out my battery is dead, lost a cap to one of my AC valves, I may get around to flushing the 'mud' out of my radiator, found out my Grandfather is on is death bed, its my brothers birthday, and my other brother and me are changing the engine oil in his '88 cheyenne.

Re: Green Machine

I've never heard of this rod run haha sounds fun, as for setting goals I planned on having the rest of the body work done by tomorrow or the next day all I have left is the tail gate and that quarter panel until I get my hood and grille. Its coming along

Re: Green Machine

cool. the rod run is held in pigeon forge in the spring and in the fall every year. one of the biggest car shows in the country. everything from originals, restored custom ......anything you could imagine from the start of cars to now. good time for everyone in the family.

Re: Green Machine

Got a lot done today, almost finished the body work except the quarter panel, located some more parts, including a license plate and about to epoxy a plastic headliner piece again. Was planning on finish the body work but the rain finally came. Also thought about swapping to a 350 ci. I found both a TBI and a vortec. I'm thinking about the vortec. Anyways heres the pics.

Re: Green Machine

Just a suggestion but i would go with the tbi. the vortec costs a lot more when it comes tune up time and the spider injection system in them are trash not to mention all the injection lines are plastic. just my opinion lol body work is lookin good

Re: Green Machine

Yeah what I could do is get the TBI and put the vortec heads on it. TBI would also be better because it already has my air filter set up.

Re: Green Machine

Came in because it was about to rain. Almost done with body work. Just have to finish up the quarter panel, fill the dent on the roof, and fix two other spots. Here's some pics.

Re: Green Machine

Also had a good idea. Dragonwrecker and Bulldog as well as anyone else you can give your opinion it would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking of making a cowl like I've seen done many times before. However I want to also put the insets like on the 2012 ZL1, but instead of four squares I was thinking of putting 'GMC' on each side as an insert. Here's a ZL1 hood so you can see what I mean.

Re: Green Machine

if ur going to fabricate the cowl i assume it will be flat top instead of the body line up the middle. i think 2 gmc's would be too much. maybe just do a "gmc" vent across the front of it only
