Re: My 1974 K5

Just to clarify are you going to have the truck Rhino lined or Raptor lined? Rhino being the professionally done job and Raptor being the more Do It Yourself job.

Nice work! The seats look great. Seems like tan will match most any outside color.

Re: My 1974 K5

i think tan would go well with the red colors - cardinal red or Crimson red - from the early 70's

Re: My 1974 K5

Lovely paint color - are you painting two tone sidebars, or keeping it solid one color? Also how did you prep the wooden bed walls for the liner? some close ups of the finish would be great as I can still considering how to finish my bed walls (i'm at bare plywood stage at present). would be REALLY interested in how the lined walls interact with the tailgate as my tailgate closed over the carpeted walls and squished the carpet.

Re: My 1974 K5

going solid color , with all flat gun metal gray on bumpers ,grill , no chrome
I just sanded the wood walls , so far doing good . But no tailgate installed yet , and it was just me driving around with 1 seat in K5 this summer . So walls have had it easy life so far .

Re: My 1974 K5

I was also driving round with one seat, no top, no walls no tailgate this summer. quite refreshing actually. Seems we're at about the same stage in the rebuilds. Was there any issue with adhesion of liner to the wood? keep us posted when you get the tailgate on so I can see how it works with lined wood walls please.

Re: My 1974 K5

might be a few months out ............ slow build !!!
My buddy sprayed the liner , he said it stuck like glue ? I figured run the liner walls until it comes off , then go black diamond treadplate if needed .

Did you spray your tailgate? Also how far under your dash did you spray? Could you share pics of both? The spray looks great really great, your project is looking nice.

No pics , truck is not here .
We sprayed all the way up as far as you could go . The tailgate is NOT done yet . not sure what I am going to do with it ??? My plan is ( I HOPE so ) to have a pick up tailgate for summer , and the stock K5 tailgate for winter . Can you even run BOTH tailgates on a K5 ??????
