match patina?

Is there any technique to match patina? meaning i have one fender that is off another truck and wanted to match it better to cab color. I wondered if i could get some paint close to the color of the cab..dull it down and somehow make it blend in to 'darken' up the fender to blend better. im not looking for a match as it is supposed to be patina natural but it is too far off now that it bothers me. Any ideas? thanks

technique I use to weather rat rod lettering is to rub a little dirt in the semi wet paint. instant aging. I know , sounds weird. try it on a junk fender

any paint that doesn't dry right away. find some plain old dry dirt from your yard or anywhere . paint it , rub the dirt in with your hand, check it out hen get back if you have ?
