Stock 3.73 12 bolt is a 4 series?

Doesn't the stock 3.73 12 bolt truck use a 4 series carrier?

Re: Stock 3.73 12 bolt is a 4 series?

I wouldn't put it that way. What you want to know is where the carrier breaks are. And for the 12-bolt truck the carrier breaks are at;

2.73-down
2.76-3.42
3.73-Up

Whether I call that a 4-series is another story but it appears the answer to your question is "YES"
