Thanks! I got the fittings and hose at NAPA. I used a weatherhead adapter, 16mm male 5/8 inverted flare.

Done!

OK, I'll stop be an AW... I went the safe route, 20 X 10's, 295 40s BFG. 20 x 8.5 245 40s BFG (no issues with the rotor)

OK, that sucks. I ordered my Grey Coy's on Jan. 4th and haven't seen them yet. This past Saturday you posted that you were still undecided on wheels and you get them in on Thursday?!

By the way they look perfect on your burb.

I've still got the front end tore apart redoing the brakes and the bags. PLUS, Coys sent me the wrong backspacing on the rear wheels. I told them that I needed a 5" backspacing and they sent me 5.5", which would be pefect if I had a 71/72 rearend and not the narrower one..... I suppose I could swap the rearend with my 68 (it's got the wider one), but I really don't want to go through the hassle. So, now I'm wating to see if they can find the correct backspacing to fix the problem...... On a good note, supposedly they fixed the problem with the front wheels as far as the dust cover goes. Either that or the CPP hub and rotor makes a difference....

It really caught me by suprise also. I ordered them on the 9th and got a call from the UPS guy yesterday saying he had them for delivery. To bad the backspacing on the rear is wrong, .

There it is. Those are probably my favorite style of wheels. When will you give us a full shot of the Burb with the wheels?

Coys seems to take it upon themselves ,to send out whichever wheels they want to. I have heard of this happing before,... and hate it.
Why would a company do that?

I think I'm going to call on Monday and make sure they know which backspacing I want. Hopefully, I can avoid that problem.

I don't know keith, I don't quite get that either, maybe he was hoping that I would just run spacers. When I spoke to them the first time they said a 5.5" BS should fit. I told him I didn't think so and that I wanted to re-measure everything (for the 10th time) before ordering. So I after veryifying my measurements, I called them back and told them that I did indeed need a 5" instead of a 5.5" BS and even explained the differences in the pre 71 rearends. Fast forward to yesterday, as soon as I unpackaged them I knew they were wrong, but I put them on the hub just to see. Sure enough they rubbed on the inside. So I call them up and tell them the mistake. He then tells me that he had 5.5 on the paperwork and I said I didn't matter what the paperwork said, I know what I told him. He said he would have to find that backspacing because he doesn't have anymore on the shelf. The clincher was when he told me that they NEVER had a problem with running 5.5" BS on this year model of truck. Maybe it's the difference of the burb and the truck, I don't know. I do know that I'm not running spacers....

I agree and I would also send them an email with your exact specifications, just in case there is an issue after they arrive.

That's why you got, what you got.
The sad part is,... these wheels are the exact same, except they mill an extra 1/2" off the center hub, when they make the 5.5" backspace wheels.

It's not like the 5" backspace wheels have 1/2" more dish on the front side, because they don't.
They cast them all as 5" backspace, and then mill the extra thick hub for the 5.5" BS orders.
Pure BS (not backspace) in my opinion.
What do you do now?
Break down the tires and ship the wheels back?
I would make them send a UPS "pick ticket" and send you out another set, with tires.

That's what I thought when I talked to him. He was just trying to make the sell and hoping they would fit or I would do spacers. If they don't send me 2 correct wheels and tires, I will return all 4 and go elsewhere for something else... If the pad is the only difference, it seems like the wheel studs would be to short on the unmilled 5" BS...???

I believe the lugnut bore on the front side is deeper.

Are you talking about the rubber mount or the tranny crossmember?

Re: 1969 Burb build-up (Bags, 5.3/4L60E, repaint, interior....)

The first few pictures show how I brought the air through the front crossmember to the front bags. I used two 90 degree fittings and a bulkhead fitting to make it all happen. It's a good thing I had to change the fittings to 3/8" because the way I had it set up with 1/4" lines wasn't going to work. That's what happens when you get impatient..... The second set of pictures show the bracket I made to hold the Accuair "brain" and manifold. It's not "Rockcrwln-esque" but it's functional, .
