Unhappy Radiator Hose Help Request

Along with my Water pump I Need to replace my lower radiator hose. Chassis is 84 GMC K-10, The engine is a 350 crate and the radiator is a replacement standard one for a 54 3100. The existing hose is unmarked and was originally installed over 20 years ago. (if you wanna hear the whole sad saga see my link). Anyway been told its and original for the 54 235 and stock radiator. Any help picking right replacement hose is appreciated. What say you?

Re: Radiator Hose Help Request

Too many bends for a 54 hose and I think the water pump connection would be the wrong size. This rock auto link should show the stock 54 hoses
https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...ower+hose,2057

84 K 10 hose may be closer if you are able to cut it off in the right spot https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...ower+hose,2057

You are probably going to end up at the local parts house that has the most hoses in stock matching your existing lower hose to what they have to see what you can use the simplest.

Thanks, I looked at the 84 hose and the radiator hose end was too big, I ordered a 54 hose so we shall see. The hose thats on there was grabbed from a pile of takeoff parts in the barn in 99.

I've got a tote of take off hoses in the shed that are there for trial fits. Bad part is I didn't mark a one of them when I took them off.

Re: Radiator Hose Help Request

Tried shop advice and ordered the one for the original 235. FAIL!! That one is too small on the pump end. After scouring ancient brain cells back to 1996(?)i think i recall using the one that came with the 84 engine and chassis. I dimly recall cutting ti to fit. Have a new 84 hose ready for shop to cut to fit. still angry that my directions to the pot head mechanic was to replace the pump and ALL rubber when installing new engine. Prolly got charged for the rattle can they used to paint the old pump when they reinstalled it and then charged me again for my own old pump and hose.

Re: Radiator Hose Help Request

You might look to see if there's a part number (maybe faint) on the hose.

I tried and no visible markings left. Think hose was old when Pete Wilson was Gov. and CA was an actual state. Plus got painted over by bozos.
