Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

I have been looking a little at the replacement rocker panels, and it doesn't appear they have the lip that this slides onto. What are guys doing to have this lip? Maybe I am just not looking hard enough.

The lip is on the repop rockers but it is 1/2 the size of the originals.

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

The full replacement rocker panels (not the slip-ons) do indeed have the lip for the weatherstripping.

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

Any updates? Just linked to this from another member's thread. Seems like a nice solution, & thanks to the OP for sharing. Truly one of those "who woulda thunk it" moments.

Great write up and suggestion from user Rob Fisher, how about some pics and feedback from the users that have since posted here that they purchased a set?

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

I called to order a set. They asked if it was the seal "on the door" itself, or the seal that goes on the body. I guess I'm asking you guys which one?

thank you,
Tim

I would think all you need to give them is the part #'s listed in the first post:

I ordered a brand new set from Hondapartscheap.com
P/N 72315-SVA-A01ZA for the right side.
P/N 72355-SVA-A01ZA for the left side.
They are called Front Door Opening Seals and described as Graphite Black.
Brand new in genuine Honda packaging was $38.92 per side.
Lots of these cars in the wreckers so I am sure you could find them used cheaper. This particular weather-strip is used in 2006-2009 Honda civic 2 door coupes, the sedan has a smaller door opening size and does not fit.

It is the seal that attaches to the body.
Thanks

Wondering the same thing, need the users that purchased some recently to provide feedback?

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

I couldn't be happier with them.
Tight seal, no more wind whistling through the gaps.
And at about $35.00 a side and they just press on it was a no brainier for me.
Great bang for the buck.

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

Do you get that "wind whistle" at driving speed with these or do they seal well as well as let the door close correctly?

Alex

EDIT: Never mind.. I see you say the seal does it all and doesn't whistle. Thanks!

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

I have had them on the truck for a few months now and have found that they seal very well. Well enough in fact that I need to change the rubber around the vent windows because now they whistle.

So the Honda trim was a success for the knee knockers also? Just a little short?
