Wiper knob set screw sheared

Any tips on extracting the broken half of the wiper knob set screw? I'm not sure I can get a drill close enough. Maybe I can cut a slot in it with the rotary tool and get a bite on it that way.

Is the knob broken? That doesn't look like a broken set screw to me. That just looks like the shaft that someone has tightened the set screw down too hard on. The set screw should not go down inside the shaft. I would just clean it up around the outside with small a file, file the flat back on it so the knob slides on easy and put a new set screw in it. Any hardware store should have the set screws.

Doh, that's exactly right. I thought that nub meant there were threads in the shaft. Nope, just a ring where the set screw dug into it. It's back on there now.

Thanks!
