Great Day at Ron 586's Cookout

Well, it was a great day today. Ron 586 was a nice enough guy to have a cookout and invite everybody on the board. I showed along with my wife and daughter, Halen. Luv2xclr8(Craig), a few 72's(Shan) and his better half Deb, Gman69(George) and his wife Donna, and Tnblazerk5(Robert) and his wife Jan showed up also. Robb gets extra credit along with Shan for coming a LONG WAY. For those of you who don't know Robb lives in the far northeastern corner of TN and drove 7 hours to have burgers and hang out with us. Shan lives in AL and it took him 4 hours to get there. I took some pics of that I took today at the cookout. I know some of the other guys there have something to offer also. Ron has a sweet Nova drag car that he pulled out on the road and left a few marks on the road. I got some video of Ron driving the Nova on the road. The one he almost lost it and hit Luv who was on the side of the road taking video also. I don't think you can see Luv through Robb on the video. I know Luv got some video of Ron coming right at him. I would have had to change my underwear.

Here's the link to the videos:

We couldn't have asked for better weather. It wasn't hot at all, it was perfect.

Yea, I got a lil too close to the burnout, and the funny thing was I was
on the other side of the road, the farside at that if you look at these, I
was right next to the driver's side tiremark on the shoulder, a lil close

Re: Great Day at Ron 586's Cookout

Well the big day got here at last and couldn't have asked for better weather. Luv was first to arrive and we had time to walk over to the outdoor parts department and check out a few things and start the day off right by disturbing a softball size nest of red wasp. I keep raid wasp and hornet killer handy and Craig blasted it so we continued our look around. We even went over to my secret stash and looked them over too. Well the rest of the group showed up and the guys went to check out the grain bin garage, the parts, and I even cranked the old AC tractor that hadn't been run in a year or so. We had our B.S. secession cut short when my wife informed me that it was 1:00 and I had promised to fire the grilles at noon and the women were getting hungry. So the cooking started and before anyone died from starvation we were chowing down. After the meal I told the guys to get the cameras ready and I would do a burnout or two cause everybody likes pictures and especially burnout pictures. I take full responsibility for the stupidity that followed. In the wanting to do the baddest burnout captured on film I held it a lot longer than I would have at the track and sitting still with engine turning 6000 rpm's I released the line lock and floored it and it went to the right quickly and no amount of turning the steering wheel in the direction of the skid was going to bring it back. When I saw Luv headed for the woods I got out of it long enough to let it settle down a bit then back in it. I went about a 1/8 of a mile down to the neighbors driveway and turned around. When I got back in front of my house I did a little more sane burnout and put the car back in the yard. The pictures show that at least the car has a little life left in it. I want to thank everyone who helped get the word out about the event and to all who attended. We plan to do it again next year and hope it will be bigger and better.
