Addicted to projects/Show me yours

I find myself buying projects and working hard on them. Then I see another one that I have to have. I then sell the ones in the garage to make room for the next. Am I addicted to Projects? Can this cycle be broken? Anyone else have the same problem?
See some I have bought and sold.

Re: Addicted to projects/Completed Projects

Looks like some nice ones! I have the same problem, not enough time or money to do anything to all of them! Here's one i picked up about a year ago. Needless to say its on craigslist now. Sometimes you have to cut loose of some to fix up what you really want to keep. Joseph

Re: Addicted to projects/Completed Projects

I'm in the same boat, but after years of finding projects, but never finding time to finish them, I'm done buying them for a while. The '70 is the only one that I have "finished" so far, and I've owned the Camaro for 23 years! And my HONDA CT-70, my '48 John Deere, and the '72 4x4 that I'm doing for a friend aren't pictured!

Re: Addicted to projects/Completed Projects

It is a viscious cycle that can only be broken if you give all your projects to ME and ME only...I have the Voodoo Dust that is required to take this pain away .......

I think its a good problem to have, unless it takes food off the table, then you need to seek professional help....

If you ever find the cure... let me know.... for me, every car/truck is a project, even if brand new and at this point I am at 38 and counting, for projects over the years...

Re: Addicted to projects/Completed Projects

I started down that path with a '68 C15, '72 C10, and '78 Z/28....all out of a 2 car garage with no project parking outside the garage....made 2 trucks from one and sold the parts, along with the Z/28.

The Z/28

The rusty '72 C10 before it sacrificied its chassis for the'68:

and my current project, the '68 GMC:

and its new '08 LY6:

Re: Addicted to projects/Completed Projects

Why do you need a cure? To me it seems better than blowing money playing golf or some other hobby, but to them our hobby is a waste. I say do what makes you happy and relieves your stress. Like stated above as long as it's not hurting your family or your budget, then why not? One thing to consider is that if you finish them before you sell you end up being more cost effective than dumping them in pieces.

Re: Addicted to projects/Completed Projects

My thoughts are
"Somebody has to do it!"

And if you don't your wife will and I doubt she will find as fun of projects as you do.Speaking of which I need to find that "Honey Do list" if i can just move enough stuff to get to it......

Those are some great looking projects, I used to have a 2 GT80's when I was a kid and when I was a teen I had an IT175, and my dad had an IT490. Those are all great vintage bikes.
