RE-united!!

Finally getting my '76 K20 back...after 8 years of being gone!!! Decided to trade my '92 Silverado shortbed for it. BUT it has a hole in the tailshaft housing of the t-case?? Makes no sense to me though(NP203)

Re: RE-united!!

Ill have it tomorrow. I am wondering if the parttime kit broke? The owner said a guy from Sweden was test driving it and shifted the transfer case wile driving...then parked it and he found the hole because of oil running out...?? It looked like something broke through from the inside???

Re: RE-united!!

Nice no frills truck with a mean stance. Mine looked a lot like that 15 years ago. Luckily NP 203's are cheap.

Re: RE-united!!

I see nothing has changed here...less than 1/2% replies to views!

Anyhow, Things I see wrong with the truck right now are radiator( i have another one), door pins/bushing,rear wheel cylinder and transfer case.

Re: RE-united!!

Looks like a nice truck! As far as lack of replies go, most people don't have time to respond to every post we see. I know I pop in once or twice a day just to see what is new. It may be from my phone which is far from convenient to post a response. It just is what it is. Good luck on getting the transfer case sorted!

Re: RE-united!!

Still in Cali? Thought you was moving to Illinois.

Glad you was able to get it back. I know the feeling of wanting a truck back. Did you wax it or was that a pic from back then?

Re: RE-united!!

Hey Roy!
Unfortunately still in Komiefornia. In 2013 when we were "planning" on moving, we were also planning/preparing to bury our youngest son...according to the news Dr.'s gave us, BUT by the grace of GOD, we still have him! At the same time, we talked to them about moving him to Illinois and they said it would be a fatal decision as he has accute respiratory failure and a weak immune system...so we are still here.... I wouldnt trade my son for anything.

Back to the truck, I am VERY happy to have it back. Cant wait to get it up and going! I see you are looking for another K30?

Re: RE-united!!

Hey, family first. Sorry to hear about your son but also happy to hear he is still here. I hope all is going well.

Yeah looking for another regular cab K30. Like a fool I sold my 86 only to regret it every day since. I went to try to buy an 85 C10 long bed today that was all original. Man was 90 who owned it and it was in pretty good shape but more than I wanted to give for it. Isn't that always the case. Lol.

My father n law has a 79 GMC that looks to be that same shade of green but is a two tone with the off white center. What are your plans with yours? Post up some more pics. I assume maybe it has the same color green interior.

Re: RE-united!!

Been working on getting all the smog equipment back on(smog pump/tubes) before I switch bodies. Im going to leave to A.I.R. intact in case for some stupid reason the smog nazis want to inspect my truck. I OWN both titles(the 76 AND the 73) and all emissions equipment will be present from the 76..but I just wont have to go through the bi-annual test.
I will be using the front fenders/hood from the 76 and the rest of the body from the 73. I prefer the green/white comb over the solid green. I will probably sell the 76 cab minus the vin plate/stickers and tags and the bed(which both are very straight!)

Re: RE-united!!

What is the 73? Is the 76 cab rotted?

Re: RE-united!!

The body is VERY nice and rust free, but it's a 76, in Cali, it has to be smogged, the 73 does not.
Here is the 73...
I like this color combo MUCH better.

Re: RE-united!!

A friend of mine GAVE me a good th350/np203 last night. The t-case already has the part time kit in it. Looks like i will just replace the entire transfer case instead of repairing the old one. Ill save it for a doubler later.
