Re: WTB: '85 Silverado Grille

I am putting together some grilles now. They will be aftermarket grilles from Classic Industries with OEM center moldings & Bow tie. The center moldings have been cleaned of the paint/tape. I have someone that is working the small dings out of a set now, but I have some that still have some minor dings. And the bow ties have been repainted. Here is an example of what they look like.

Pretty good idea. So do you have one that is together that still has a few dings?

Re: WTB: '85 Silverado Grille

I can put one together with the aftermarket grille. None of the grilles themselves were any good, they were all broken. I took the center moldings and bow ties off to use on the aftermarket grilles. I want to get all the center moldings dent free, but if you don't care about that, I can get one put together. Shoot me a PM with a cell number and I can text you pics of all the moldings I have.

Hey dont want to take this off track but since it looks like this deal is done. What is the best way you have found to ship grills without them getting busted up. I have a few I would like to sell but I am afraid shippers would break them up.

I reused the box that the aftermarket grilles were shipped to me in from Classic Industries. They are wrapped in a thin foam sheet and then wrapped in bubble wrap. And then placed in the box. Each end of the box was packed with paper to protect the ends. I also put some of those packing balloons in there for good measure between the grille and box. Box size was 54-57"x 14"x7", if I remember right.

The grilles I will be rebuilding, will be with aftermarket grilles from Classic Industries. I will use the original center moldings and refreshed bow ties. The moldings will be reworked, to be be free of dents & dings and the old paint removed & polished. But at this time, I don't have any center moldings that are ready to be used. My estimation for cost will be $250.
At the time when I have grilles to sell, I will start a separate thread.

Nice! People don't realize how nice the GM grills look until you swap aftermarket ones for a GM style.

Before/after

You are very welcome!! Glad you like it and it does make the truck look 100% better.
I also had a Billet grille from the previous owner, but I wanted to go back with the stock grille. This is the grille I put together for my truck. The 3rd & 4th pics (before & after) are of another grille I restored/rebuilt. I decided to keep this grille as a backup, in case something were to ever happen to the one that's currently on the truck.
