There is a lot of bolts to get this far

Since I was alone, I didn't do the fron clip, but I yanked the front grill and bumper. Man...lots of WD 40.

We are going to get a shiney new chrome bumper and a grill clean up. Temporarily found I'm going to need to replace the support. The right side is rusted out bad. But I need to keep it driveable for a while. I'm beginning to feel like I belong now. The old chevy truck look ..no front end.

Did that big ol' car show push you over the edge and give you the fever? He-hee! Gettin' started is the hard part, gettin' it finished is even worse, but it's all worth it when it's over! Good luck man!

When you get ready to install the new grill (looks like it might be at least a week from now)
give me a call.
Hurry though. My memory is fading fast.
Gonna look great!

Aren't those bumper bolts just too much fun to get out? I would say something about the bed bolts, but then you'd never do them.

Bed bolts -
If they are stuck, take a cutoff tool and cut a groove in the top rounded surface. Get a friend with big arms to hold a screwdriver in the slot that you have cut. Get underneath with a wrench and curse frequently.

Or simply grind the entire top of the bed bolt off. The floor of ours was trashed though, we are just saving the bedsides, front panel, and wheel humps.

I figure bed bolt should be simple...just like my bumper bolts.
Put a wrench on them and they break right off!

Hey who says you gotta get a wrench to curse at your Chevy? I do it frequently at chevy's when they're like breaking traction or pop universals. So who says you have to be working on them to curse them??? Anyone ever used one of those impact hammers to get bolts out??? Works pretty good, wack off the nut then shove the bolt through the hole! :p

Your not far so if you have the money, why not replace the support now? I just did mine this summer. You can leave your fenders on and just unbolt the support and slide it out.

I used a repro support from Kingparts and it fit like a glove!
