73-87 wheel tub extension?

Looking for the approx 8 by 10 inch square piece of sheet metal that bolts to the bottom rear of the wheel tub and the reinforcing arch at the rear lower panel,, any sources other than salvage yard? Hard to fabricate due to the wheel tub being flanged where this attaches. See attached pic.

Re: 73-87 wheel tub extension?

I have asked about these before on the forum. Have been told it was a real early item that was dropped after a few years. (please correct me if I'm wrong)

I am also interested in a source, if there is one.

Oh wow....thanks for the heads-up! I assume they'll fit all fleetside squares, and that they list them for '73-'78 because those were the trucks originally equipped with them.

Any chance somebody has a good picture of the flange these attach to on the bedside? I have a couple to fix. It looks like a PO backed over something sizeable! It looks like the bedside is a little out of wack too.

Re: 73-87 wheel tub extension?

I made a couple sets from from some stainless steel salvaged from govt. surplus medical equipment. The lack of the little bend at the top didn't seem to matter as the metal gave enough when the bolts were tightened to let everything fit tight.

I added a bit of a bottom extension as an experiment. The mounted one is on a M1008 CUCV. I got the original off my 75 C10. The stainless is a couple gauges thicker then the original so hoping the lack of the stiffening ridges won't matter much.
